My name is Scott Morton. I have been playing the Bagpipes since I was eleven years old.

As a young Scots Guardsman, having completed 9 months of military training, I went on to be taught at the Guards Depot Piping School under the direction of Sergeant Roger Huth (later became Pipe Major) and Pipe Major Jimmy Banks.

I left the Army in 1998 and now live in Corby, Northamptonshire.

In January 2004 I was invited to play live on BBC Radio Northampton, during the show I gave the presenter, Bernie Keith, a quick lesson on playing the pipes.

I am a member of the Scottish Piping Society of London.

Morton is one of the Septs of the Douglas Clan. The Tartan on this page is the Black Douglas Tartan.

My kilt is the Modern Douglas. The difference is that it has a white over-check, instead of the Black Douglas' red.

I have recently taken up a part time teaching post at Maidwell Hall, an independent boarding school for 8-13 year old boys.
